In Honor of Alicia Alonso

Today, I went to Don Quixote Ballet @Lincoln Center. It was a special day because they were honoring Alicia Alonso, the most important Ballerina for ABT and USA. They were celebrating her 90th birthday by showing a video about her life. The most interest part, she is Cuban. And she was one of the founders of the American Ballet Company. What an incredible night!! Below there is a piece of an interview that she gave to NY Times. Loved it!!

“If a person keeps thinking, ‘How old am I going to be?’ and thinking about the age” — she raised her voice — “that’s the worst thing you can do. You don’t have to think about how old you are. You have to think about how many things you want to do and how to do it and keep on doing it.”
She clapped her hands and added: “Otherwise, you know what I think? I am going to live to be 200 years old. So I hope all of you do have the same fortune. I would hate to be alone.”
